A Traveller's Notes

2001

These travel archives comprise 34 cards and a stamp bearing the text A TRAVELLER’S NOTE. On the reverse sides of the cards are administrative texts, which add another dimension to the notion of ’travel‘.
The words on the faces of the cards have been collected in the course of time. They are ordinary words that can be found in everyday life all over the world. Combining these words with images, thus incorporating them into a new order, provides a basis for various associations and reveals the poetic side of everyday language.
These ’Traveller‘s note‘ archives are a result of continuous zapping between different languages by the artist who, to an increasing extent, is behaving like some kind of cultural nomad.
